At Visit Lake Kivu, we recently had the joy of hosting two wonderful visitors from the United Kingdom for an unforgettable two-day adventure on Rwanda’s most beautiful lake. The trip was filled with stunning sunsets, boat ride on peaceful water of Lake Kivu , islands discoveries, and amazing wildlife.
Sunset Kayaking Around Bugarura Island
The journey started at 4 p.m. with a kayaking experience on Lake Kivu. Paddling around Bugarura Island, our guests enjoyed the calm waters and breathtaking views as the sun set over the lake. The sky turned golden and reflected on the water, creating the perfect moment of peace and beauty.
Kibuye Islands Boat Cruise
The next morning, the adventure continued with a boat cruise to explore the famous Kibuye islands. Along the way, our visitors were surprised to see something very unique swimming cows crossing the lake! They also spotted playful monkeys along the shoreline, adding even more excitement to the trip.
Birdwatching on Lake Kivu
Lake Kivu is not only about scenery, it is also a paradise for bird lovers. During the cruise, we observed many colorful birds such as the Black Crake, Egyptian Goose, Yellow-billed Duck, Black Kite, Water Thick-knee, Great Cormorant, and several other beautiful species that make this area so special
