A Day Trip to Kibuye Lake Kivu

Three weeks ago, we received a message from a family after their visit with us to Lake Kivu. They said the experience was so meaningful that they wanted it turned into a story, something they could remember and share with others.

The family included a father, Yuan, and his two children, aged 12 and 9. From their words, it was clear that this was not just a normal trip. It was a journey filled with discovery, laughter, and real connection to nature and local life.

What made it even more special was how simple moments became unforgettable memories, watching fishermen sing on the water, paddling across the huge lake, seeing wildlife, and experiencing life around the lake in its most natural form.

This story is based on their real experience during a Lake Kivu journey from Kigali to Kibuye, shared to give future visitors a true feeling of what a day at Lake Kivu is really like.

After the trip, the family shared their experience. The 12-year-old guest wrote:

Here is a short, clean, lightweight HTML version (same text, simple style, still looks nice):

As a 12-year-old explorer, I liked how informative and helpful our guide, Mr Aimable was. The tour was about 2 days. We first went on fishing sightseeing and the atmosphere was very friendly because the fishermen were hardworking. They also sang and it was very cheerful. We also saw swimming cows. It was very interesting. Then we went to see monkeys on an island. Next we hiked on Napoleon island. Lastly, we went to a very fancy chateau called the Chateau Marara and it was beautiful. We had lunch there. Overall, my experience was very nice.
