We took the boat to Napoleon’s Hat Island where we hiked to the top and past the bats. We were able to take a quick swim in Lake Kivu and then watched the monkeys and wild life on the other islands nearby. Our guide Aimable was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. What an experience! Aimable and his boat driver Julius made this experience so peaceful and brilliant. I did a half day Lake Kivu tour by myself after I decided to travel from Kigali. Aimable is so professional and kind. His communication from the start via WhatsApp is so good, I felt really reassured that everything would be okay. Even after the trip when I had to return to the bus station quickly, he helped me to organise some lunch and to arrive on time for my bus. The tour itself was really good. The boat is very clean and comfortable. We did a small hike and Aimable is very knowledgeable, sharing information about the history of the land, the nature and animals there. It was wonderful moments at Lake kivu, We left the dock around 2pm, we enjoyed 3 hours tour including sunset tour with friendly & Knowledgeable guide (Aimable) he really like what he do, he was always eager to explain everything for us.
